This free mini Mushroom crochet pattern is a fun and easy amigurumi project that works up in no time. Measuring approximately 5 cm (2 inches), it’s the perfect size for small handmade gifts, keychains, baby mobiles, garlands, or bag charms.
If you sell crochet creations at craft fairs, this little Mushroom is also a great addition to a claw machine or prize display. Small crochet items are quick to make, affordable for customers, and often become an easy impulse purchase.
I designed this tiny Mushroom as part of my Mushroom Collection, inspired by autumn, woodland, and gentle handmade childhood memories.

Mini Mushroom Crochet Pattern
Materials
- 100% cotton yarn
- Yarn colors: Cream and Red
- 2.5 mm Crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- Stitch marker
- Polyester fiberfill
Abbreviations (US Terms)
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- ch = chain
- inc = increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
Mushroom Stem – Cream
Rounds 1–7 is worked in continuous rounds (spiral). Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each round and keep track of your rounds.
Round 1: Magic ring with 6 sc (6)
Round 2: Inc in each stitch around (12)
Rounds 3–7: Sc in each stitch around (12)
At the end of Round 7, join with a sl st to the first stitch of the round.
From Round 8 onward, the stem is worked in joined rounds. Each round begins with the indicated chain and ends with a sl st.
Round 8: Ch 2 (does not count as a stitch). Working in the front loops only, work 2 dc in each stitch around. Sl st to close the round. (24)
Round 9: Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch).
(Sc in next stitch, inc) repeat 12 times. Sl st to close the round. (36)
Fasten off.
Mushroom Cap – Red
The cap worked in continuous rounds (spiral). Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each round and keep track of your rounds.
Round 1: Magic ring with 6 sc (6)
Round 2: Inc in each stitch around (12)
Round 3: (sc in next stitch, inc) repeat 6 times (18)
Round 4: (sc in next 2 stitches, inc) repeat 6 times (24)
Round 5: (sc in next 3 stitches, inc) repeat 6 times (30)
Rounds 6–8: Sc in each stitch around (30)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Assembly
- Lightly stuff the mushroom stem.
- Place the cap on top of the stem and
begin sewing the two pieces together
halfway around the opening. - Continue sewing a few stitches, then
add more stuffing to the stem and cap as needed. - Finish sewing the cap securely to the stem, making sure the stuffing is evenly distributed before closing the remaining opening.
- Weave in all ends securely.
